Kristen H. Walter, PhD, is the Division Head of the Clinical Research Program and Clinical Research Psychologist at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, California. She is also a privileged clinical provider at Naval Medical Center San Diego and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Promotion and Behavioral Science at San Diego State University.
Her research focuses on the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and conditions that commonly co-occur with PTSD, such as major depressive disorder and traumatic brain injuries. Her work explores outcomes of evidence-based treatments for PTSD and comorbid conditions, as well as physical activity-based approaches.
Dr. Walter is a Principal Investigator on numerous funded clinical trials. Her work has been featured in various media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and NPR.
